Bailey--this is my Great Grandmother on the Bailey side of my Family. Susan Osburn Hancock--Oct. 6 1836--May 27 1926--This is my Great Great Grandmother on the Bailey side of my Family and the Mother of Mary Ann Hancock, her husband was Josiah Hancock, from Chambers County, he was killed in the Civil War in Maryland and is buried in Maryland, I don't have any dates for him If you have the 1840-1850-1860 Chambers county Census you will have just abou all the information I have. I think John C. and Mary C. were his parents, but cannot prove this. This is why you awakened my courisity, we may be distant cousins if these are in your Family.
Helene,I'm replying to your message about the Hancocks in Chambers county. Mary Ann and W A J were my grandparents.I knew Susan Osburn Hancock. She was living with Mary Ann and W A J in Langdale until her death in 1926. I was 10 years old when she died.I would like to get in touch with the one who wrote to you.I think that probably we have about the same info about them, but we might have some info to exchange.
