    3. Here is the Augustine Line I am trying to prove. I am sure of the line from 6th Generation Robert Hancock b 1711 to the present. The connection between Robert born in 1679 to Robert born 1711 is the questionable link that is a guess on my part. Can anyone on the list help me prove or disprove this possible connection. Any suggestions or help would be most appreciated. There were several questions and requests about my earlier query so I am listing the line here. William 1st Generation, born about 1850 Augustine born about 1605 Simon William Augustine 2nd Generation Robert William born about 1631 Sarah Ruth William 3rd Generation George born about 1658 Jubal Sarah Ruth George 4th Generation Robert born about 1679 in Virginia Robert 5th Generation Robert born 1711 in Virginia Edward Dinah William George Thomas Joshua Robert 6th Generation, married an Elizabeth (Doby?) Jemima Robert was christened in 1755(may have been born in 1753) in Virginia Henry Robert 7th Generation, married a Sarah, migrated to Alabama before 1820. Clement born between 1770-1780 in Virginia Clement 8th Generation married an Ann(e) Benjamin born 1820 in Limestone Co. Alabama later became Madison County after a boundry shift. Benjamin 9th Generation, married Balsora Andrews Richard Clem born 1846 Nancy G. Mary D. Richard Clem married Martha Matilda White after migrating to Houston County Texas (near Crockett, Texas) in 1856 Robert, Sr.(born 1711) and Elizabeth had a son named Robert, Jr. who was Christened in Virginia on March 6, 1755 (Birth date may have been 1753.) The exact location in Brunswick County is not known at this time, nor is Elizabeth's maiden name. Robert, Jr. married a Sarah and they had at least 10 children. One was a son named Clement, who was born between 1770 and 1780 in Brunswick County, Virginia. It was there that Clement married Anne. Some time later, about 1820, Robert Hancock, Clement Hancock, and Clements wife Anne migrated to the Madison County area of Alabama. At that time, Madison County was much larger than it is today, and the western boundary was further west than it is today. It is not known if Robert Jr.'s wife, Sarah, and other children accompanied them on their migration to Alabama. Robert Hancock, and Sarah, are thought to have left Virginia, and lived in either North, or South Carolina, on their way to Alabama. Robert died in Alabama, however the date, and burial location is not known. It is unfortunate, that no other details are known at this time about Sarah. That information is probably somewhere in the records of either Limestone County, or Madison County, Alabama, At that time, Alabama was a part of the Territory of Mississippi. It was there, that Clement and Anne had a son named Benjamin, born January 9, 1820. Clem, an abreviation of his real name Clement, preferred to be called Clem. Clement Hancock was born between 1770-1780 in Virginia, and died in 1847, in Limestone County, Alabama. His burial location is not known at this time. Clement Hancock married an Ann, or Anne, who was born in June 1780, in Virginia, and died May 29, 1864, in Houston County, Texas. Although her last name is not known, there is a strong possibility that she was also born in Brunswick County of Virginia, as was Clem. She is buried in the Arledge and Jones Cemetery about 10 miles east of Crockett, Texas in Houston County. It is not known where Clem died in Alabama or Texas, or where he is buried. There were several Arledge families that moved to Alabama and Texas Clement Hancock, and Ann had four children. Benjamin Hancock, Josiah R. Hancock, Mary Hancock, and William C. Hancock. There may have been other children, however, no others are known at this time. Benjamin Hancock was born January 9, 1820, near Athens, in Limestone County, Alabama, and he died at Crockett, in Houston County, Texas. The date of his death is not known. Benjamin Hancock married Balsora Andrews, who was born in March of 1825, in Limestone County, Alabama, and died Feb 11, 1904 in Crockett, Houston County, Texas. They were married on Feb 21, 1844 in Limestone County. They had at least three children, Richard Clem Hancock, was born May 16, 1846, and died April 20,1916, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, Nancy G. Hancock, and Mary D. Hancock No other details are known about Nancy G. or Mary D. Benjamin Hancock was a farmer, and it is quite likely that his father, Clement Hancock was also a farmer. Benjamin and Balsora, moved the family from Limestone County, Alabama to Houston County, Texas, in 1856. The reason for the move is thought to be for cheaper land, but it possibly also was because of a family law suit brought by his wife. Both Benjamin and Balsora Hancock, are buried in the "Old Shady Grove Cemetery" about 10 miles east of Crockett Texas. The cemetery is at the site of the Shady Grove School. The cemetery is overgrown, and is no longer used, and is on private land, with no entry from any paved road. Their son, Richard Clem Hancock, was born May 16, 1846 in Limestone County, and died April 20, 1916, in Fort Worth, Texas. He married a Martha Matilda White, who was born July 24, 1856 in Crockett, Texas. She was the daughter of William Henry Harrison White, and was born on April 27, 1815, in Amite County, Mississippi, and died May 22, 1896 at Porter Springs, Houston County, Texas. William's wife, Martha Jane Vick, was born Jan 19,1827, in Hinds County, Mississippi, and died April 15, 1912, at Crockett, Texas. William and Martha White are both buried on the top of the hill in the Porter Springs Cemetery. William and Martha Jane White gave the land for the cemetery. He also gave the land for both the Methodist, and Baptist Churches in Porter Springs William Henry Harrison White was the son of David White, and Rebecca Lowe, born in 1792. No other details are known about the Lowe family at this time. Martha Jane Vick, was the daughter of Isaiah Vick, born Nov 13, 1785, in Virginia, and he died on March 13, 1873, in Houston County, Texas, and Lydia Price, born in North Carolina. Isaiah is buried in Houston County, Texas in the Ellis Spring Cemetery. No other information is known about them. Isaiah Vick's father was Thomas Vick, Jr. of North Carolina. Thomas Vick, Jr.'s was Thomas Vick, Sr., of Virginia. No other details are known about them Richard Clem Hancock and Martha Matilda White had at least 11 children. Richard was a machinist as was one of his sons. Richard, and Martha, along with the children, moved to Fort Worth, Texas sometime about 1906. The move was made for better work opportunities. Richard Clem was my maturnal grandfather. Thanks for your help, Bill Felknor billf2k@yahoo.com

    3. Hi Bill I assumed that, since 1711 Robert and 1679 Robert show as son and father in Chart #1 of the Hancock Family Project, this relationship has already been verified by the researchers of Chart #1. Are you saying this might not be correct??
