This is the line I am attempting to orove back to Augustine Hancock. Any help in tracing ancestors of Robert b 1711 back to Robert, b. about 1679 would be most appreciated. Our earliest known Hancock ancestor in America was a Robert Hancock, b 1711, who married an Elizabeth. There was a son, Robert Hancock, born on March 6, 1753(1755), in Virginia. No other details, or information about other children, is known. Robert Hancock, born 03/06/1753 in Virginia, married Sarah. There was a son, Clement Hancock, born circa 1770-1780, in Virginia. No other details, or information about other children, is known. Clement Hancock, born circa 1770-1780 in Virginia, married Ann, born June, 1780. Sometime before 1820, the family moved to Athens, Limestone County, Alabama. It is not known why the move, or if the family lived in any other areas before arriving in Alabama. It was there, a son, Benjamin Hancock, was born January 9, 1820, in Limestone County, Alabama. Clement died about December, 1847, at Athens, Limestone County, Alabama . Sometime later, Ann moved to Houston County, near Crockett, Texas, most likely with their son Benjamin's family. Benjaminb and Balsora Hancock moved to Texas in 1856. Ann died 05/29/1864 in Houston County Texas. No other details, or information about other children is known. She is buried in the Arledge and Jones Cemetery. Both Benjamin and Richard Clement Hancock fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. Benjamin, born 01/09/1820, married a Balsora Andrews on 02/21/1844. Balsora was born in March of 1825, in Limestone County, Alabama. Their son, Richard Clem Hancock, was born on 05/16/1846 in Limestone County, Alabama. Richard died 04/20/1916 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Richard married Martha Matilda White, born 07/24/1856, probably at Crockett, Houston County, Texas. Martha died on 07/24/1925 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Benjamin died 12/19/1901, at Crockett, Houston County, Texas. Balsora died 02/11/1904 at Crockett, Houston County, Texas . Richard and Matilda had a total of 11 Children.
