And, BTW, I am not on either side of this War at this time, as it is over, (and nobody won) but I had more ancestors on the Southern side, (17 at last count) than I had on the Northern side (only 1).     3. I'm new to this group, but this doesn't seem to be the appropriate venue for such a discussion. Can we consider all points covered now, and drop this? This isn't the best use of server space. thanks.

    3. Julia, My reference was to the revolutionary war, not the war between the states. Those "who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor" did so in rebellion to King George. Ray
