    3. No Malinda , I received it from a friend on the net who is a devote Southern researcher and is quite eloquent in his writing. I did not post it as a slam to anyone, north south, east or west, black or white. I did address it to my SOUTHERN researcher friends on the list, as I feel more Southern than western. I am not a bigot, we are active politically, are members of national veterns organizations, have friends of all races and work to promote the law of the land and respect for our flag and all that it stands for. It was not meant to start a war, or to create criticism of anyone. Maybe I was taken in and missed the slam but it was not meant to cause hurt to anyone. I sometimes feel the south is neglected when it comes to honoring their dead. My husbands Southern relatives were not honored but buried in unmarked graves I have never been able to find. His Northern ones were marked and with honor. Two were in the same battle and were both wounded and sent home; one from the north and one from the south. My father came to this country because of terrible political problems in his homeland in the 20s. I am proud of my heritage, and feel that the War between the states was a sad commentery on our history. I don't believe that my Christianity or any other religious belief should be brought into question nor anyone elses either. Everyone has a right to free speech. I do APOLOGIZE to the list and would ask that any further discussion be directed to me personally rather than to the list. I would like to request that this subject be dropped. Helene Please remember that this was a carefully crafted piece of propaganda....that Helene did not write (did you Helene ?) It starts with Patriotic sentiments that we can all get behind (the better to get passed on to others)...and the "hooks" don't come until much later. You actually have to spend some time reading the whole thing before they show up. [Remember that political media handlers think we all have the attention span of gnats and/or busy schedules ] Question is...where do these divisive little journalistic bombshells get created ? And what is the agenda ? You can bet they have a purpose and someone got paid (no doubt over-paid to craft this and a whole lot more of these Internet traffic sheets....why ?? Why do they inevitably get released around holiday time ...or when controversial legislation is happening...or a controversial news story is happening ? Did anyone else notice the spate of viri that got released onto the Internet when "some" of the Florida vote re-count results were being released ?? Perhaps it's because my wicked stepfather was OSS, but I smell a rat...and it's certainly not our patriotic Helene ! janiced@texramp.net wrote: > Sorry, I can't let this pass. Godless northern men? 3. Yup...I knew you would never try to start a war...<grin> ...or hurt anyone in any way. We all know that. There's been a lot of knee jerk reaction going on. Now that we've had a chance to get the tensions cleared, perhaps everyone can have a more relaxed 4th. Have a great one Helene...and everybody else, too.
