I'm new to the listserve and have a lot of questions but will try and keep it brief. My research starts with my great grandfather - Orrell I. Hancock. He married beneath him (supposedly) and the story goes became the black sheep of the family. I have the scribbled names of his parents as well as a couple of generations back from his brother but am having problems confirming. I also seem to trace them into Burlington NJ. My info (from scribbled notes): Orrell I. HANCOCK m. Anna LYLE his father was Albert G. HANCOCK m. Emma Harrington INSLEE and his father was George HANCOCK m. Sarah Wilan GREELY and his father was Samuel HANCOCK m. Lydia GILBERT the notes continue to scribble Samuel's father as Thomas and Samuel's father as John (I think they were hoping for a connection to THE John Hancock but quickly disproved this). I found Samuel and Lydia's marriage on the net as being in Burlington, NJ. My question: Do I come from the Timothy/Burlington line? The Hancock page doesn't have this info yet. I've read that Timothy's first wife was Rachel and they bore only girls. That would leave me to link with the second wife which I've found to be Susannah IVES. I've found info that says they have had three children Hannah, Ann and John. This would leave me with John and his wife Mary GURNELL. Anyone have info on their children? Did Timothy and Susannah have any other children/boys? I think I'm only a generation or two away from linking my line with this one. Any info is appreciated. I apologize if I've given too much info. Thank you, Sherill Baldwin
