Ardath- I forgot to mention the info I sent on the two Majors is an update on what I submitted to the Hancock Project several years ago. It is essentially the same but may have some twists. I feel the material I sent this date is the "correct" info. Bob, I copied this from the Missouri Project. Something is wrong with it but I can't put my finger on it. Please look it over. I believe this is supposed to be the Major of 1770. My files are a mess, and I just can't afford to verify all of the info, so I sure hope your info is correct. At least I know you have really tried to get to the bottom of a lot of it. Also someone posted an Elizabeth Fuson who married Josiah Adams before she married a Major Hancock, (1814 in Patrick Co.) and they apparently moved to Champaign Co. OH. where their children were born. Can anyone verify this? Notes taken from the "Missouri Project". Karen's record listed md Miss Elizabeth Fuson, D. Kentucky, but was crossed out. Gave power of attorney to Wm. Hancock to sell land in VA 7 Nov 1818, Patrick Co, VA recs. Received land in 1802 from his father's will, Patrick Co, VA; possible issueStephen Hancock b. 1786 md. Rowrod; 20 Mary Hancock abt 1803 married Richard Wade, JR 1821 - needs to be verified. Hist. of Va. vol 6 - "R. Major Hancock of Wayne Co, KY, says on 28 Nov 1849 in Clinton Co, KY that he was born on 18 Jul 1770 in Fluvanna Co, VA and is 8 years younger than his sister. Records of Martin Dunville.
