    3. I have already been to your site. In fact i would say that i have seen just about every internet document on this family line. I am familiar with Richard Wade. I know that he was captured at the Salt Lick with William, and that he was marched to Detroit with around eight other men not including William, who escaped. Stephen went on the salt making trip with the 26 other men, but was not captured because he had returned earlier with two other men to deliver the first pack horse salt load to Boonesborough. (Lucky fellow!) Are you related to Walter O Hopkins who wrote the book called "Hopkins of Virginia" This book details this Hancock families vital statistics. When you say 'application' do you mean a rev. war pension application, or do you mean SAR/DAR application? If it is the later I would like to know if you were the one who filed it and what is involved. Thanks Bob! However I wish to remind you William and Steven were brothers to my gggg-m Judith (Hancock) Wade and my gggg-gf John D Hancock. The latter two siblings are discussed in Chart Three of the Hancock Project. Richard Wade and his wife Judith were at Ft Boone with William and Steven and Richard was captured by the Indians along with Judith's brothers. His Rev War application is the basis for much family history.
