(Perhaps before coming to America?) It is a good book but is incorrect in several areas regarding Hancocks. I mean Richard Wade's pension application. I read it about 25/30 years ago and wished at the time he was mine! At a somewhat later time I found he was! About that time I read the "Court Marshall of Daniel Boone" and ran into the entire family. (William, Steven were witnesses against Boone.) I have not applied for DAR/SAR papers although I hane 11 grandfathers to file upon. For some reason (probably just lazy) I have not taken the time to gather papers, especially on my father who changed his name, lost all birth records to fire, etc. Good luck on the Hancocks. bobHop Visit our home page http://mx4.xoom.com/bhop1 Major family names- Abel, Adams, Anders, Bellisfield, Brock, Byers, Davis, Dement, Field, Guffey, Hancock, Hockaday, Hopkins, Irvine, McClanahan, Scarbrough, Shipley, Strother, Stonestreet, Wade, Wampler, Westlake
