    3. Bob, Thanks for the reply. Of course you are right about giving the locations. I guess it was a combination of being self-conscious about dumping so much into my first list message and the assumption that, since I had found so much discussion of Nathaniel HANCOCK as a progenitor of The John Hancock, that he would be instantly recognized. Generations 1 through 4 are from Derbyshire, Cheshire or Lancashire, England. Nathaniel apparently lived in Cambridge, MA. Thomas (generation 5) led his family to Springfield, Hampshire, MA (though he apparently was born and also died in Farmington, Hartford, CT. Generations 6 through 8 are in the vicinity of Springfield (Longmeadow, Hadley?). The rest of the trajectory of the family takes them along the route of the Mormon emigration, ultimately to Payson, Utah, UT, where my grandmother, Aurura Maria Hancock. People who are familiar with this history might recognize the names Solomon Hancock, Joseph Hancock, and George Washington Hancock. I think there must be a Hancock Family organization for the Payson, UT clan, but I cannot find it. Thanks, Stephen R.
