Hi, Rena, I am a descendant of a Nancy Hancock who I believe is a daughter of an Austin Hancock. Some trees list her as a daughter of Major Hancock, but she named her second son Austin Hancock Thomasson, so it seems likely to me that Austin was the father. The families of Austin and Major were both from the same general area of Virginia (Goochland and Louisa county are adjacent). Do you know much about these families? Are Austin and Major connected? Have you talked to Audrey? She and I are working on the same basic line. I got these out of a book that is published in Christian Co. Ky. about every 10 years. These are Hancock's that came here from other places and raised their families here in Christian Co. I also have a Austin with a daughter Nancy born 1787 and married John P. Thomasson, Jr. but that is all I do have right now except some brothers and sisters to Nancy. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Natalie L. Hi, Natalie, Yes, Nancy HANCOCK b ca 1787, dau/o Austin HANCOCK & Ann/Anna NUCKOL(D)S/NICHOLS, married 1806 Louisa Co., VA to John P. THOMASSON, Jr. Austin was son of Benjamin HANCOCK (1735 -1805) & Mary BEADLES per Austin's pension record. I have not found a connection to any Major HANCOCK & family, and I don't think others working on Major's lineage has either. I have tentatively identified Benjamin & Mary's children (based upon preponderance of information) to be: William HANCOCK (b ca 1751) m Jemima BROCKMAN & lived in Orange Co., VA. His children are found in KY. John HANCOCK (b 1753) m Nancy Ann GRAVES & lived in Louisa Co., VA;Franklin, Woodford, & Fayette Cos., KY before settling permanently in Butler Co., OH. Joseph HANCOCK (b 1759) m Nancy Ann DICKENSON and they lived in Hanover Co., VA. His son, John, m Susan Pettus GRAVES in Louisa Co., VA and went to Todd Co., KY and Christian Co., KY. Austin HANCOCK (b 1760) was born in Goochland Co., VA and lived the rest of his life in Louisa Co., VA Certainly there were other siblings and other family connections.
