    3. Dale and Alan, I don't know if we have communicated before or not. Rena and I have. I believe that many of the Union Co., KY HANCOCK line are related to my (Capt.) John HANCOCK from Louisa Co., VA. I believe that most of those in Union Co., KY were descended from Austin HANCOCK, believed by me to to be brother of (Capt.) John Hancock. Those of us researching this area of Louisa, Hanover, and Orange Cos., VA are having a difficult time due to the burning of records at various times. Based upon much circumstantial evidence it appears that the relationships exist. Thomas Graves Hancock, s/o Capt. John, was in Union Co., KY at a time in his life. I would love to compare notes, if anyone has additional information that might us help solve the questions of relationship. I also moderate the Capt. John Hancock Discussion List that focuses on this family line and other family connections.     3. Audrey, Union County Kentucky has two distinct lines of Hancocks, and I believe that you're right in the line you describe. My line immigrated to Union County in the family of William Hancock and Ann Hill, from Chesterfield Co,Va. in 1801. If you've been watching the list, Arvil (and I think Jean?) and I share a common ancestor line down to only a few generations back. My line, beginning with Simon in 1609ish, is: Simon,William,Samuel,Simon,William,Hiram,Robert,John Carrol, Robert Irvin, and Ben Hite Hancock, my father. I'm not finding America Hancock in my computer base, but know I've run across it. I'll try to find the notes, and get back to the list. Good luck! Dale A.
