I don't know where he lived in NC/SC, but he was born 6 March, 1755 and christened 13 April 1755 in VA, per the"Register of Albemarle Parish Surry and Sussex Counties 1739-1778", Gertrude Richardson/Colonial Dames Edition . His godparents were Frederick Green [who married Letitia Hancock d/o Clement & Antheny Hancock], David Mason [two of Clement's granddaughters married Mason brothers, John & James] and Antheny Hancock [this could be either Antheny w/o Clement Hancock Sr..or Antheny d/o Clement & Antheny Sr]. His parents were Robert Hancock Sr and Elizabeth (nee Doby).
