Every time I find a place, such as the town where my grandmother was born. I get any books I can find, with information on that place, and read up on that town, and then I get a copy of an old map that I find at the Library and at times, on the web . I then keep zooming in on the map untill I can get a clear picture of all the surounding towns. All this helps me to do a better search on my grandmother's backround . It kind of gives me a feeling of being there . Knowing the history helps me to see the town as it must have been when she lived there. If I'm lucky and can find a lot of photo's of the place, I then can make a little book of photo's and information. I have allways been crazy about history. Another nice thing is the index page.
