Hi Carol, It's great to hear from you too. I agree with your conclusion that these folks are most probably of the Surry Co VA Hancock line (dead ended at the moment with Clement Sr and Anthany).....HOWEVER. There's a problem....how do you explain that Clement Jr (s/o Clement Sr & Anthany Hancock) was already deceased (with a deceased young daughter named Susannah) in 1758 when his father died ? His widow Mary (nee Harrison d/o John Harrison) sold his land in Surry Co VA a few years later. Thus...he can NOT be Clement Hancock b 1754. There is a more likely probability this Clement was the grandson of Robert Hancock of Surry Co VA and his wife Mary Doby. The details should be in the HANCOCK-L archives. This Robert Hancock is likely either an older son or younger brother of Clement Sr. This same Robert Hancock is also the most likely progenitor of Bill Felknor's line. Further details of this are also in the list archives from years ago. You might want to search them and see what you think. I'll copy Aunt Peggy on this . It's her research work.
