I am trying to find out where and when my great grandmother Francis/Frances Hickerson Hancock died. I have her on the Seward County, NE. 1910 census age 75 living by herself in Milford, NE. Some of her children and siblings and there families are living near by. I don't see her on the 1920 census. Anyways The Seward County Genealogical Society sent me a copy of a obit. from May 26, 1905 of a Eleanor Hancock. I do not know if she is connected to my family or not yet. Thought I would share this just incase she belongs to your family line. Mrs Eleanor Hancock, mother of Mrs. W. D. Badgley, died on board a Burlington train, last Saturday, while en route from Milford to California. Mrs. Hancock and her daughter, Mrs. George O. Ranson, of Fortuna, California, had been here visiting with Mrs. Badgley, and as Mrs. Hancock was in poor health she thought to go to California, where it was believed she would be more comfortable in a change of climate. On nearing Denver the higher altitude brought on a hemorrhage which ended in her sudden death. The remains were shipped back to Milford, arriving Tuesday at noon, and immediately taken to the cemetery, where short funeral services were held. Eleanor Rider was born in New York in 1832 and was married at the age of 17, to Luther J. Hancock, who died in 1892. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. W. D. Badgley of Milford, with whom she made her home the past winter, and Mrs. Geo. O. Ranson of Fortuna, California.
