Hi, Isabel, Well, for one thing, it will help determine to which line of HANCOCKs you and your brother connect...especially since I believe he may be a brother of our (Capt.) John Hancock, and thus if related your brother's DNA would be the same as my hubby's and the 2 other men to which our line also (somehow...somewhere) connect. If you note on the DNA RESULT page there are already four matches with those HANCOCKs connecting to the same HANCOCK ancestor as my hubby's (Capt.) John. I'm anxious to learn if your William is then also connected to this DNA and thus the brother that I have assumed via circumstantial evidence. Hancock , has finally agreed to do the DNA test. Can someone tell me what exactly this will prove? I am afraid I do not understand what has been posted about the results. We are descendents of William of Orange Co. VA. Other info would be appreciated. Thanks, Isabel Hancock Tyler
