from the Jasper Texas Newsboy this was put in the Thomasville paper. Found it on a trip to Georgia library. At the residence of Mr. C.A. Hancock in Newton Co, Texas, January 28th, 1880, Mr. W.R. Hancock, aged 79 years 7 months 9 days died. He was born in Pitt Co, NC June 19 1800, came to Thomasville, Georgia in 1821, and thence to Newton Co., Tx in January 1872 and has been confined to bed for 6 years. This obit would be referring to Charles Allen Hancock and his father William Richard Hancock. Those who have been trying to tie him in with James and Mary Frizzle Hancock may find use of this information. It is my belief that William traveled to Texas with his son Jonathan Hancock.
