Am reposting my William H. Harrell in Georgia. Info came from "History of Butts Co., Georgia," p. 642-643. William H. Harrell married Judith Wise in Oglethorpe Co. Ga, 15 June 1815. Wm. H. was born. 21 Feb 1786, Richmond, VA and died 8 Nov 1839, Jasper Co., GA. Children of Wm H. & Judith were: Harriet Newel Hancock m. James Trammell Maddox Mary E. Hancock m. Isaac Slaughter Emily Hancock m. John Lee McMichael Sophia Hancock m. Pollard Bickerstaff (my line) Julia Ann Hancock (twin) m Edward Herndon Adams William Hopson Hancock (twin) m. Nancy Goolsby Other info that I have gotten says that Wm. H. came to Georgia for his health. His father (unknown) was said to have disinherited him because he married a planter's daughter (Judith Wise). I don't know if Wm's parents were still in VA, where he was born, or had moved to NC, SC, GA or elsewhere. However, I do assume that he had some relationship to other Hancocks in the Oglethorpe Co, GA. area. (Judith's family had come from Oglethorpe Co to Butts Co, next door to Jasper, so her & Wm. H.'s move must have been with them.) I have not found any additional info on this family for several years. Cecile Harrell
