Joel Edmond Hancock---my G-G-uncle, son of John Wilson Hancock & Mary Johnson, Confederate Veteran, wounded at Monocacy, Md. in Sept. 1864. His thigh bonewas shattered by a minie ball, which left him with a bad limp for the rest of his life. Joel Edmond's uncle, Joel T. Hancock was killed May 10, 1864 in the Wilderness of Spotsylvania, while serving in the 13th Georgia Reg. Also--Joel Edmond's brother, G.W. Hancock served in Co. A; 13th Georgia Infantry. This is my family's connection with the 13th Georgia, we were (and are) a bunch of unreconstructed Rebels!! Alvis
