    2. In light of all the recent really good discussion, can anyone tell me which family my Thomas Hancock belongs to. This particular Thomas was born about 1780-90, had a wife Mary Saunders He was elected Sheriff in Randolph Co., NC 1826-27 Some of his children were: Virginia Abner b. 1811 in NC John Pipkin b. 1816 NC (was a cobbler in Missouri during civil war) Hillary Hogan b. 1820 Nancy Elisha Henderson Thanks so much for any help.     3. Carolyn, I don't know if I've talked with you about Thomas Hancock before or not, but from all indications in records I've found on him and his family, I think he was born in Hertford Co., NC. It seems to point in that direction anyway.
