Hello I have found a William Hancock who married a Phebe Shrack 1850 Delaware Co IN On the 1870 Danville, Hendricks Co, IN census, I found Phebe Hancock, head of house with 4 children. Is anyone familiar with these people? Might the Phebe's be one and the same? Also, when male head of house was engaged in Civil War duties, how would he have been counted on the census?
