Alicia, Re: migration to Indiana My husband's Harrell/Rhodes/Thornton/Shields lines moved from Guilford & Stokes Co NC to Bartholomew Co. shortly after the Civil War. In researching them, I learned that there were numerous families from NC that made that move from early 1800s onward. Quite a few were Quaker related. There is a person there now who is extremely helpful in sending documents. She sent an 1881 marriage certificate to me at no charge. If you are interested, I will find the name and address and post.
