Hi Sue, and others, I do know that several people do have FM that are on the Hancock list. I am not sure it is a Family thing, but I do know that certain genes do carry their little tidbits of malaise for many generations. In fact they can skip several generations supposedly and show up 200 yrs later. The Mennonites have some of the best health records, and their records were used in a 200 yr study for the purpose of finding certain diseases that seem to come and go. No one knew before, because 2 or 3 generations would go by, before it would show up again. It may have showed up, but that part of the family had moved away to another area, and were out of touch. I was heard a speaker at a genealogical conference talk on this subject. He used a complete chart, and it was fascinating. I guess there is no way we will ever find out about ourselves, but we can try to include the medical info, for those we do know today, and keep as many records as possible. It can be a bit awkward to say to a person that you would like to have their family history, and then add "Any addictions, illnesses, diseases, oh, yes, and what did your mother and father died from" LOL. Regardless, it can come up and if you can manage the subject, it is a good thing to include. Have a Great Day, and Happy Holidays, again. Ardath
