Hi All As many of our Hancock ancestors grew cotton or farmed in the lower south, I wanted to tell everyone about a good little book I came across. It is called "The Cotton Kingdom" by William E. Dodd written in 1919. Published by Yale University Press. It is only about a 146 pages and has a world of history about cotton farming, slaves and the farmer way of life. I don't know if it's out of print but I'm sure some libraries might still have it as it was part of the The Chronicles of America Series. Bill Felknor billf2k@yahoo.com
