Hi I am still searching for information about Thornton Hancock born in South Carolina c 1799. He Married Eliza Green. He was found in Pickens Cty Alabama c 1830 and Itawamba Mississippi c 1840. Has anyone run into any information about Thornton? Joanne

Joanne, Ironically I have HANCOCK, THORNTON, and GREEN as surnames, but no family that seems to connect with yours. I remember seeing info on the THORNTON surname mailing list from GA, Alabama, and SC. Have you tried posting to that list? It might be worth a query. Good luck with your search. Hi Brenda Yes I have tried. Several people in my husband's family have been working on this for many years with no luck. I think he may have been native american, but I haven't had much luck there either. Thanks for your help.
