Helene and Linda, I live in the Sierra Foothills just east of Oroville. When we first came to CA, we lived in Eureka. That was really an experience for a FL gal! Not only was the ocean cold and rocky, but when the sun came out, it was the talk of the town. Helene, you are fortunate to have such resources close by. When I was in Eureka, we lived a mile from the genealogical library. It was small but nice. Growing up on an apple orchard sounds neat, but milking cows by hand doesn't. My kids had goats when they were in 4-H, and I made it a point to not learn to milk. : ) Linda, I've heard of Weed, but I can't recall where it is. I went to school in KY, but my Hancocks went to GA and FL. My ggg-grandmother was Sarah Hancock who married Wright Douglas. Since they were quite a few generations back, I don't have any Hancock pictures. I know there are a lot of descendants from Sarah and Wright. Does anyone have any pictures to share? The earliest I have is of Sarah's grandson, Eli Clark. I'm serious about my invitation to visit. It's still raining and gloomy outside, but I'll stoke up the woodstove, put on the teapot, and show you pictures of my granddaughter. Take care. Mitzi Clark Bateman
