Now for the descendants of Clement and Isabella Hancock. From what I've found, it appears all their children were born in SC. I have them as follows: William died in Laurens Co, SC leaving a will John m. Nancy Roberts and died 1860 in Jackson Co., TN James Clement Sally m. Mr. Rodgers and possibly Joseph John who married Nancy Roberts owned 200 acres of land near Whitleyville, Jackson Co., TN. John was born in SC, but Nancy was born in NC. Their children were: Polly m. John Proctor Elizabeth m. Alexander Keith Doy (? that's how it was spelled) m. Jim Dodson Washington Edmond Roberts m. Mary Jane Dodson The son James whose wife is not known by me as yet, moved from Laurens Co., SC sometime between 1805 & 1816. He moved near the settlement of Flynn's Lick and received his first land grant there in April 1816. By 1834, he owned 600 acres near Flynn's Lick. His home was near a creek that became known as Hancock's Creek. Lisa
