Dear Julia, Thank you for assuring me that I had not overlooked another web site that held a compilation of the genealogical information related to Group 1. I recognized that most of you have been working on the Hancock Family research for a very long time, which is why I asked. There was no suggestion that you repeat all the work that you did. If all the research is reported in the Archives, then I will continue to work there. I have no ambition to link all the families together for a publication. My goal is quite modest: trying to link a couple of apparently close genetic families together in the hope that it will give me a lead on from whom my Robert descends. Having written more than a few academic papers I am very familiar with the rules and laws of attribution, copyright, and plagiarism, whether the source is in print or on the Internet. However, your counsel about obtaining permission for use of information is always worth repeating. Roberta
