Helene, I DO know what a 5 1/4 inch floppy is. In fact, I have a couple of boxes of them gathering dust on a shelf. Heaven only knows what is on them. I still have my Apple IIe sitting in the corner. I don't know if it works, but I can't bear to let it go. It was never internet capable, but it got the job done. Julia, I've never found a connection to my Joseph Hancock in Massachusetts to any other Hancocks, but I still enjoy reading the email messages on the list. Remember when we fought the war again and some left the list? And then there was Jean Hancock the psychologist; I still have some notes o hers. Her humor was great. Arvil was the author and Lisa moved back to where the history was. HER TWINS ARE ALMOST COLLEGE AGE BY NOW. TEX AND I WENT BACK AND VISITED WITH HER ONCE AND OUT TO ARVIL'S HOME AS WELL. WE EVEN WENT OUT TO GEORGIA AND SAW ALVIN. THEN WE FOUND THE HANCOCK CEMETERY in Louisiana THAT HAD THE FAMILY FROM MADISON Alabama all buried there. N ow we have lost so many and until lately no one has found anything on Isham because I believed the census taker and messed up Odessa's and Tex's lineage. So it is up to the youngsters who don't know what a soundex is and will never have to, thanks to computers. BET SOME DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A 51/4 INCH DISK IS. Our letters were so exciting in those days as we slowly found bits and pieces. When Jean got back to the Corns I SUDDENLY REALIZED I HAD 2 LINES OF TOTALLY DIFERENT hANCOCKS. ONE NORTHERN AND ONE SOUTHERNER. hATE THIS NEW KEYBOARD. NEED TO GO TO WORK AND PACK.
