    3. Arvil, FYI, I am still active at 74 and my website at www.hancockonline.net is very active as my wife and I add new individuals, sources, and photos almost every day. As previously reported, my line of Hancock-surname individuals came from Devon, England. Some of then later moved to Ontario, Canada. Many stayed in Canada but later a few of the Canadians moved to Northern California -- and ended up in Napa. I am the last of my line with the surname Hancock. My Hancock ancestors tended to have quite a few children, but only one or no male offspring. The Hancock daughters later married men with other surnames. Thus I have quite a few cousins -- and my website includes numerous Hancock family descendants with surnames such as Bean, Catt, Culley, Fisher, Glos, Imboden, Lacaze, Martin, Nickels, and Webb. My ongoing DNA analysis surprisingly indicates that I have some paternal ancestors with the surname Wheaton. I am currently adding Palmer and Pullman individuals who lived in England in the 1800s. 3. Dan: Thanks for responding. Glad to hear that you are still hard at work on Genealogy. We have tried earlier but failed to find a connection for our Hancock lines but I will definitely visit your website and try again. We believe, but haven't been able to prove, that my ancestor William was born in Devon. I'll get back to you after I have visited your website. 3. Arvil, FYI, my family history at www.hancockonline.net currently includes three men named William Hancock who were born in Devon, England. They are as follows: 1. William Hancock, b. 1817-1821 at South Molton, Devon, England son of Robert Hancock & Frances Gardener Sources: 3 2. William Hancock, b. circa 1847 at Kings Nympton, Devon, England son of James Hancock & Jane Loosmore husband of Susanna Jane (Susan) Nickels Sources: 6 3. William Hancock, b. circa 1887 at Bishops Nympton, Devon, England son of George Hancock & Bessie Smoldon Sources: 2 I hope the above helps identify your ancestor. Unfortunately, the name Hancock was quite common in England in the 1800s -- making research difficult. So far I only have been able to trace my Hancock line back to: - Robert Hancock, b. circa 1754 at place unknown but probably Devon husband of Agnes Carter and father of 8 children Sources: 4 Best regards, Dan Hancock dan@hancockonline.net www.hancockonline.net On 20-May-14 10:44 AM, arvhancock wrote: > Dan: Thanks for responding.
