    2. Hi Lisa, The tests for females, are: the mtDNA that traces your direct female line, i.e. your mother, her mother, her mother and on up. Females change their name every generation. The other is the FamilyFinder test that traces all your ancestors, but there again, many of them change their names every generation. It is passed from fathers to all their children and mothers to all their children. Your matches from your Hancock line may not be named Hancock, but most people are pretty good at posting all their ancestor's names or their GEDCOM which is better. You don't have to purchase those two tests through a Project and a Project is of no use. You will be able to see all you matches.. Actually, the surname Projects are only for males.
