I had problems with the small-stuff pages and couldn't get the company to respond to my emails. Audrey is doing Group 3 "Capt. John" on her private pages. Everyone needs to log in an add their "Most Distant Ancestor" if there is not one showing for their test. I, as administrator of the Hancock DNA Project, can no longer access that part of each test. Thanks to the company. Julia In a message dated 2/1/2013 1:53:01 P.M. Central Standard Time, jonessh@swbell.net writes: Audrey, I know that John L. Hancock and his family were in Yazoo County and he was part of the Benjamin line. You and I discussed John L. many years ago. I have no idea if he was connected to John H. Hancock, but it seems like there was a George connected to John L. I'll look through my old materials and see what I can find. People used to think that John L. was connected to my William (b. 1801 SC), so I researched him thoroughly 6 or 7 years ago and determined he was in the Benjamin line. What happened to our small-stuff DNA site online? I can't find it. Did the URL change? S. Federal Census: George M. Hancock, 45, male, Raftsman, b VA John H. Hancock, 55, male, gin wright, b VA Their gravestones appear on Find a Grave: http://www.findagrave.com Find A Grave Memorial# 32331384 George M. Hancock Find A Grave Memorial# 32331372 John H. Hancock John H. Hancock's gravestone has this inscription: "Here lie two Grandsons of John Hancock, the first signer of the Constitution." We know that neither can be grandsons of John Hancock, Signer of the Declaration of Independence and Governor of Massachusetts. He had a son and a daughter who did not survive to reach their teens. John Hancock did not sign the Constitution, he signed the Declaration of Independence. Evidently they were born in Virginia, but to which HANCOCK Virginia DNA family do they belong?
