Hello, Researchers of Chart 3 DNA FAMILY, If you are researching or believe there is a family connection with your ancestor of any members in the Chart 3 DNA family, I would like to create a webpage listing the believed connection along with the name and e-mail of the researcher. Lisa & Helene believe that John "J" Hancock connects to the same line as Isham Hancock, so it would be nice to show that possible connection as we try to resolve where that person might fit in. So, if you find yourself researching a connection to this group, please send me the lineage you are working on, and perhaps some connections can be found in time. However, we know that unless someone is tested, there is no real way to validate that that person has the DNA of a Chart 3 Hancock. In my own projects, men have learned that somewhere in their ancestry there was a significant event that changed their paternity...adoption, bastardy where the child took the mother's maiden name or the name of her husband/step-father at the time, or etc. There have been brothers who tested who learned they have different fathers; cousins who tested who learned their DNA didn't match. So, even if someone else in a family tested, until one is tested, we can never be sure.
