    3. Becky, http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Hancock/default.aspx?section=ycolorized When looking at this FT DNA Chart you will see that Hector is 11757 and carries I2b1 a completely different haplogroup identification than all the other Hancocks listed and tested. This appears to mean to me that there was a significant event in his line as it stands right now: adoption taking adoptive family's name, taking a mother's maiden name if someone in the line was illegitimate, back in time his ancestors took or adopted the HANCOCK name (alias), or other event. It would appear that he may match with another family surname. On the testees personal DNA site the parameters probably need to be set to Match with All Testees. That may be a clue for you or the testee to check out the surnames with which the testee matches. Perhaps another may enlighten you further -----Original Message----- From: Becky MITTON [mailto:volleymom5@cableone.net] Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2013 1:40 AM To: AudreyHancock1939@sbcglobal.net; hancock@rootsweb.com Subject: DNA Hector Hancock Has there been any matches on the Hector Hancock line? 3. Audrey, thank you for the information concerning the personal settings on the DNA site. I have just gone into the site, and for my husband's test (11757) which is the Hector Hancock line, the parameters are set to match any surname. I also uploaded a gedcom file for his line with about 12,000 names connected to his family. It only took 5 minutes- thank you for suggesting it. Hopefully, there will be a breakthrough at some point. To Becky- no further luck with the Hector Hancock line to report. We'll keep looking!
