Does anyone recognize to which HANCOCK family this Henry Hancock would have been related? May be difficult to connect since he died in 1825, unless someone knows of this occurring in their family. Always sad to read about. Audrey "Georgetown Sentinel," Scott County, Kentucky 3 October 1825 SUICIDE "On Monday morning last, a young man of this place by name of Henry Hancock, was found near Great Crossing, suspended by a small rope or cord to the limb of a tree! No cause is assigned for the commission of this horrid and unnatural act. the deceased was an apprentice to Mr. Oliver W. Gainea [or perhaps Gaines...ash] a carpenter, of this place, and would have been free in a few months; he always appeared of an industrious and peaceable disposition. He complained of being unwell on Saturday, and took some medicine; on Sunday went out to his father's and on Sunday night launched himself into eternity!!!"
