    2. Yes, Paula, except that you order the test for him from the "Roberts" Project. (I am guessing from your email address that his surname is Roberts) They offer the Y-DNA12 marker test, but in my opinion that ordering 12 markers is a waste of money and time as 12 markers isn't enough to insure that a match is significant. Go here and scroll down to place your order: http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Roberts Julia In a message dated 1/5/2013 3:19:14 P.M. Yes, Paula, The male Y-DNA is passed from father to son, to son, forever. Therefore the Y-DNA of any male is the same as his earliest direct male ancestor. If he matches other males (in this case Hancock males) they have a common male ancestor in their direct line, no matter how far back. You will be able to see the names and email addresses of all males that your Hancock male matches and will be able to contact them. The test is a simple brushing of the inner cheek and the tip of the brush is mailed to the company. The complete instructions are included in the test kit. Go to: http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Hancock and scroll down to see the prices and place your order. I suggest the 37 markers, but you can start with the Y-DNA25 and upgrade later if you like. Be sure to put the male's name and address to have the Kit sent to him. You can pay via Credit Card or if you want an Invoice, check that box. Put one email address in the first blank and as many as you like in the second blank separated by commas. Once the order is placed, you will receive an email with further instructions and info. Julia French Wood Hancock DNA Project Adm. In a message dated 1/5/2013 7:14:58 A.M. I did not have a figure to give him, but he could be interested. Could you provide me with the actual costs and the procedure, please. Hi Paula, That is great news that you have the correct data posted. Have you considered DNA testing for one of the Hancock males?
