Hello! I am looking for assistance regarding my 3rd great-grandmother, Zianah Hancock. She was born abt 1806 in Virginia. She was married to William Porch (son of Frederick Porch & Martha James) on Jan. 9, 1830 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. I haven't been able to find out who her parents were. I have no information on her siblings either. By 1840, the family moved to Monroe County, Indiana, and by 1850, they were living in Bell Plain Township, Marshall County, Illinois. Her husband, William, died in 1857. Between 1870 & 1874, she & her youngest son, George Porch, moved to Sedgwick County, Kansas where she married Alexander Davis on Apr. 15, 1874. She died on Mar. 20, 1884 in Sedgwick County, Kansas. She only had children with William Porch, they are as follows: Elizabeth Ann Porch (1830-1868), Thomas D. Porch (1834-1876), Dudley Porch (1837-1853), William Henry Porch (1841-1896), Martha Jane “Mattie” Porch (1844-1920), Nathan W. Porch (1845-1864), George M. Porch (1847-1898). Census records indicate they may have had 2 other children that died in childhood while the family was living in Indiana. Her name is spelled in a wide variety of ways on census records. Her headstone has her name as “Ziannah,” but all court records in Marshall County, Illinois have her name listed as “Zianah.” Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Kimberly
