As you know, the 1880 Soundex to the U.S. census includes ONLY those households with children age 10 or younger. So this means we can look for those families that were not Soundexed. The new 1880 census with ALL names has been released. It consists of a set of about 53 CDs which cover the entire US. The cost is $49.00 (US). It is both a national index plus the actual census entries as extracted. It doesn't contain images, but contains all the data. It can be ordered from the LDS Church Distribution Center, either by phone or web. Phone 1-800-346-6044 I ordered mine today on the phone and they are back ordered to June 1st. Such a deal! On the web go to www.ldscatalog.com

Hi All, I am new to the list. I am researching Hancock's from Kilmersdon, England. They later moved to Bedwellty, Wales. My earliest known ancestor is William HANCOCK b. abt 1780, wife unknown. His son, George HANCOCK b. Bet. 1797-1801 m. Esther MOORE on 05 Feb 1827 in Kilmersdon. They had several children; Joanna b. 1827 Kilmersdon, Sampson b. 1829 Coleford, Solomon b. 1831 Kilmersdon, George b. 1833 Kilmersdon, John b. 1836 Kilmersdon, William b. 1838 Bedwellty, Sarah b. 1841 Bedwellty, Elizabeth b. 1843 Bedwellty, James b. 1846 Bedwellty. Solomon is my line and he immigrated to Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania about 1852. I'd be interested to know if anyone else on the list is researching this family. One family member, John, went from Wales to Australia. I have a web page with lots of HANCOCK wills and obituaries for the family in PA.
