    2. WILLIAM FIELDS
    3. I am seeking any information on Herod (?) Hancock ,b.11 Aug. 1807 and his wife Nancy Rowell Hancock b. 2 Feb. 1814, both born in South Carolina no town or county of birth known. They left S.C. migrating to Columbia County Arkansas possibly in the 1840's. Along the way they had two children Nancy b. 1846 in Alabama and Sarah (Sallie) my gggrandmother b. 12 Dec. 1850 also in Alabama. They settled around Magnolia, Ar. in Columbia County. I have no information on either the Hancock or the Rowell family (parents, siblings or any ancestors). ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

    2. Hi, just got back on the list after a couple of years! Arvil helped me and other Rafferty relatives with much information on the Harrison Cty, Ind connections with the Hancock family, starting in the 1840's. Since then, our information has exploded and we were able to get together a ist reunion in Denver last month. I was wondering if anyone had any photos of people of that era and area? Henry Rafferty was married to Mary (Polly Ann) Hancock from 1845-65 and his brother, William, was married to her cousin, Sarah Hancock , also. I just came across the Hancock website and wonder if the background church and graveyard is the Hancock chapel. It didn't print out, and a good photo would be welcome. I have searched the Harrison cty websites, but no luck. They apparently lived in Blue River Twp. Thanks for any help. Dave Rafferty

    3. Alicia, Re: migration to Indiana My husband's Harrell/Rhodes/Thornton/Shields lines moved from Guilford & Stokes Co NC to Bartholomew Co. shortly after the Civil War. In researching them, I learned that there were numerous families from NC that made that move from early 1800s onward. Quite a few were Quaker related. There is a person there now who is extremely helpful in sending documents. She sent an 1881 marriage certificate to me at no charge. If you are interested, I will find the name and address and post. 3. Hi Bettie, It is the IGI - International Genealogical Index. The Mormons started this many years ago, at first for their own people, now everyone uses it. Type in "Family History Center" and it should come up or "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". On the main page at the top is a tab with "search" on it. Click on there. If you have more problems let me know. 3. Hi Bettie, I just found "an" Eli Hancock in Indiana who puchased land from the Gov. It is on the GLO. I think it was in the 1830's or 40's. I was looking for a Levi and found this one this afternoon. Maybe you should take a look at it. If you can't find it let me know. I am sure someone could tell you how to bring up those land records. 1. [HANCOCK-L] Clifford Hancock's Work
    2. Ardath Buckaway
    3. Hello to all, Is there anyone who can tell me if the work of Clifford Hancock is still available? If so, where can I get a copy, what is it called, etc. I am looking for definite proof of the link between Stephen Farrar Hancock, and his son Levi Elijah Hancock, his eldest son born in July 1823 in Franklin Co. KY. This family moved with the Lacy Family to Owen Co. IN. in 1825. Does anyone have a copy of the Obits, articles for any of these Hancocks or Lacys, anything in print. I have the Lacy Books, and the Farrar Books but nothing in them suggest that Levi E. was a son of Stephen F. Hancock. Some years ago, Maureen Ward sent in the birth of Levi E. to the IGI, but I don't know where she got her information. Thanks. Ardath in Canada
