Mitzi, Where in N.California. I was born and raised and married there. Lived in Utah twice, Montana twice and California a great part of our life but came back to settle in the 4 season area in Utah. Live just south of Salt Lake and have the best of the research world here. We volunteer and work in the BYU library 2 days a week and can run to SLC when we have time. I have children in Ukiah and Rhonert Park as well as here in Utah. I was raised in Sebastopol on an apple ranch. We used to wade through the mud in the corral when rounding up the 20+ head of milking cattle and had to milk by hand when it flooded and the powere went out for 2 or 3 days. Those were 'the good old days'? I got depressed while in California when it rained and was overcast. Here if it is snowy weather it is bright and you can brush it off. Love it. More information concerning the latest email virus making the rounds. Be carefull...do not open any file attachment unless you know what it is, simply knowing the person that sent it is not safe, many viruses resend themselves from an infected computer to everyone in their address book WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE. (((((((((((((((((( McAfee.com Dispatch ))))))))))))))))))))) ------------------------------------------------------------ ** EMERGENCY VIRUS ALERT - W32/Goner@MM ** ------------------------------------------------------------ McAfee.com has seen an OUTBREAK of computers infected with W32/Goner@MM, also known as Pentagone, Goner or Gone. This is a NEW, HIGH RISK virus that spreads via Microsoft Outlook email and ICQ instantmessaging programs. This mass-mailing worm will arrive from someone you know with the following email message: Subject: Hi Body: How are you ? When I saw this screen saver, I immediately thought about you I am in a harry, I promise you will love it! Attachment: GONE.SCR Goner has a DESTRUCTIVE PAYLOAD. When the attachment is opened, it will look for a variety of anti-virus, firewall and other security programs and attempt to delete them, along with ALL FILES in the same directory. This worm will also place a trojan, REMOTE32.INI, on the system, which contains instructions to attempt Denial-of-Service attacks on other IRC users.

Hi Sue, and others, I do know that several people do have FM that are on the Hancock list. I am not sure it is a Family thing, but I do know that certain genes do carry their little tidbits of malaise for many generations. In fact they can skip several generations supposedly and show up 200 yrs later. The Mennonites have some of the best health records, and their records were used in a 200 yr study for the purpose of finding certain diseases that seem to come and go. No one knew before, because 2 or 3 generations would go by, before it would show up again. It may have showed up, but that part of the family had moved away to another area, and were out of touch. I was heard a speaker at a genealogical conference talk on this subject. He used a complete chart, and it was fascinating. I guess there is no way we will ever find out about ourselves, but we can try to include the medical info, for those we do know today, and keep as many records as possible. It can be a bit awkward to say to a person that you would like to have their family history, and then add "Any addictions, illnesses, diseases, oh, yes, and what did your mother and father died from" LOL. Regardless, it can come up and if you can manage the subject, it is a good thing to include. Have a Great Day, and Happy Holidays, again. Ardath

Am still having a difficult time with my Hancock clan. I just recently learned that my GRGR grandfather moved to Texas from Georgia about 1880 and resided in Dallas County. His name was Augustus Clarence Hancock born 12/1830 in Greene County, GA and died 11/3/1894 in Dallas County, Texas. His first wife (Mary Jane Stephens) died in GA about 1876. Apparently Augustus then married Martha F. ? (born in GA 1852) and he took the following children to Texas with him: 1. Richard H. Hancock b. 1857 2. Augustus F. Hancock b. 1859 3. Lucille Francis Hancock b. 1862 1. Richard married a Loma? about 1888 and they apparently resided in Ellis County, Texas. They are both buried in Midlothian cemetery in Ellis County, Texas. The had the following children: Willie, Vernon, Alice, Susan, Mary, Opal, and Claud (births were from 1889 - 1907) 2. Augustus F. married Jennie ? about 1886 and they too resided in Ellis County. Do not know where they are buried. They had the following children: Fred, Fannie, Clark, Kitty Clyde, Harry, Ruth, Ada P., Frankie M., Jimmie H., and Robert B. (Births were from 1889-1910) 3. Lucy Frances married Thomas Hickey 1880 in Dallas County and she died 1936 in Clay County, Texas. It appears that from Dallas County they moved to Ellis County. Thomas died after 1903 then the family can be found in Clay County, Texas. They had the following children: John, Mary, Augustus C., William, Earnest, Bessie Lee, Nellie, George and Roger. (Births were from 1883 to 1903) The Georgia clan is just as mysterious. It appears that Augustus Clarence's siblings remained in Georgia primarily in Greene, Taliaferro, Oglethorpe, Hancock, Spalding, Polk, Baldwin and Putnam Counties. Any help would be appreciated, Gary Gary A. Gavegan 24810 Pecan Creek Lane San Antonio, Texas 78255 Gavegang@cs.com
