    1. [HANCOCK] William & Tabithia Jackson Hancock
    2. To anyone using these names as a link to their GA connections. Have noticed the bad info is being picked up constant regarding the children of William & Tabithia Hancock of Chesterfield Co., SC. First, NONE of their children went nor died in GA. Secondly, they had only one son named James Hancock, that being James Ervine 1837 - 1864, as shown. Thirdly, the info picked up regarding their son John as being married to a Margaret Marshall is not correct. Wm & Tabithia's son John was born 1822 not 1819 in SC and died in 1863; still in SC. Have all necessary paperwork, etc to show this information as posted is not all correct. Please try to correct and if unable to do so, can help. Leonard

    3. Hi all, New to the list, as I'm starting to delve deeper into my Hancock line - I figured I'd post the basic details of my line just to see if anyone has any advice or connections. Do any of you have Hancocks who were living in the Belfast/Co. Antrim area of Ireland around this time? 1. Edward Hancock was born c. 1825-1830. Edward Hancock and Rose Collins were married on 30 Oct 1851 in Belfast, Antrim, Ireland. Rose Collins was born (date unknown). Edward Hancock and Rose Collins had the following child: 1.1. William Hancock was born on 25 Feb 1855 in Belfast, Antrim, Ireland. He died in Nov 1901 at the age of 46 in New Jersey, United States. William Hancock and Catherine McAleese were married on 2 Jan 1878. Catherine McAleese, daughter of Simon McAleese and Ann Powers, died in Sep 1901 in New Jersey, United States. Family legend says she was from County Cork. William Hancock and Catherine McAleese had the following children: 1.1.1. Margaret Rita Hancock was born on 3 May 1891 in Paterson, Passaic, New Jersey. She died on 12 Nov 1963 at the age of 72. Margaret is my great-grandmother - she had a number of siblings - all sisters, some born in Belfast, some born in Paterson, NJ. 2. Hi Arvil, Good to hear from you. Genealogical.com is a very reputable company and I order books from them often. They have all of John Brayton's and I believe Fred Dorman's book as well as many others. They were, probably, just trying to offer a service to those who ask about your book. You should ask them to remove the referral, however. Regards, Julia, still in New Orleans In a message dated 7/7/2011 11:39:37 A.M. I went to the Genealogical.com site and found that my book is listed there. They say to order it directly from me at 726 Jura Way, Sunnyvale. Several mistakes. I had never heard of Genealogical.com and had never been there before. They did not have permission from me to list the book. I have not been at the Jura Way address for more than 6 years. The book has been out of print and unavailable for several years. The book is in nearly every Genealogical Library and in many local libraries where my line had history. I suspect that many people who bought the book would now be willing to part with it. Sorry, that's the best suggestion I have. My best to all of you.
