I tried to look him up on the 1860 and 1870 censuses, but he didn't come up at all. Could his name have been spelled differently? The program I was using is available to us free from our public library, and is VERY sensitive to spelling. If you have any other names to try, or different spellings, I will try to look it up again. Hi Julia, I was just re-reading some old emails, and wondered if you had the results yet of Joseph French who was Hector's ward? I am really curious about him, and how they ended up being his guardian. Could he have possibly have been related? Just curious, oh and by the way, how do you read the results of the DNA. I feel pretty silly that I don't know what I am doing? Have there been any new results on the Hector DNA? Thanks, Becky
Hi Pat, it's very kind of you to offer me some help, I'm sorry but there was no correction in that direction. I guess I will just keep banging against my wall until it falls. Thanks again for your help. Bob thanks for the help with Stephen Farrar Hancock. My next question has to do with his son John William Hancock and his decendants. My g-grandfather was his son Hester Fremont Hancock. I have never been able to locate any other children of John William Hancock. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Claire They say, "It takes a minute to find a special person, An hour to appreciate them, A day to love them, But then an entire life to forget them."
Hope someone on the list can shed some light in my direction: My wife's line is James R. Hancock b. abt. 1797 SC His sons where: Hardy Harry (H.H) b.abt. 1818 SC James R. b. November, 1824 SC Henry S. (H.S) b. abt. 1826 SC Francis (Frank) Marion b. abt. 1831 SC By the 1840's they have relocated to the Jefferson County Alabama area. In checking through the 1850 Census for Alabama I find there is a Hancock Family in Tallapoosa, Alabama. Hardy Hancock also b. SC abt. 1797 Margaret is listed as his wife, but no children are listed. Is there anyone who can tie these to Hancock's to each other or who has information on the Parent/s for either of them. Any help would be welcome. Regards Bob
Joel Hancock married (Mrs.) Martha E. (Reeves) Wesley, 31 Dec 1865, Spalding Co., GA (md., 1st., Redden P. Wesley, d. 1865). Joel and Martha's dau., Ella Catherine Hancock married Jesse Hartwell Starr, 1883, Spalding Co., GA (s/o John Henry Starr and Mary Elder, Spalding Co., GA). Does anyone have the dates of Joel's birth/death and incl. his parents/siblings? Not all so sure believe Martha was his 2nd., wife. Would anyone have any idea who his 1st., wife could have been?

Can anyone tell me the decendents of Stephen Farrar Hancock. My line goes back to him, but I don't find information on his sons. Any help? Claire Life does not require us to be the biggest or the best, it asks only that we try
Does anyone recognize these Hancocks, they are not mine but for some reason seem to have them. Mary HANCOCK who married William MATLACK in the 1600's in NJ, and her brother, Timothy HANCOCK? Thanks, Claire Life does not require us to be the biggest or the best, it asks only that we try
Hi Sue, The parents of William M. Hancock are Mary Irby b. c1821 in TN and Isom M. Hancock b. c1819 in GA. I believe that he is the Isham Hancock on the 1840 Mississippi, Choctaw County census. In 1850 and 1860 he and Mary were in Marshall County, Mississippi. On the later census his son always stated that his fathers birth place was NC. So apparently he is one of the North Carolina Hancock's but figuring out which one is a chore that I have not accomplished. Odessa ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sue H.
