Finally found the family of my Elizabeth Wisdom Rhodes Hamrick of Amador Co. CA !!!!! Here is a brief rundown, the kind gentleman who helped me is sending more data: Her father was Daniel Rhoades b 11 Feb 1790 and mother Barbara Cockrum last of Mercer Co. Missouri, they had 14 children, Elizabeth was #8. In 1850 Daniel and Barbara are living in Marion Co. MO, before that they are in Cooper Co also. Probably the photo in my book should be changed to say Barbara and not Elizabeth!! Daniel's father was Joseph Rhoades who d 28 Oct 1799 in Muhlenberg Ky served PA Militia AmRev his wife was named Elizabeth (our Elizabeth was named after her grandmother) this is referenced in PA Archives Military records Daniel has a brother named Thomas Rhoades who was the pathfinder for Brigham Young and who was a rescuer of some Donner Party survivers, he is my great great great uncle. They settle near Sloughouse, about 20 miles from Amador Co. He purchased the gold that is atop one of the buildings in SLC. Joseph Rhoades has a brother named Henry Jr. b 1739 in Berks Co. PA was a Captain in AmRev, he served in the PA State House with Benjamin Franklin Their father is Henry Rhoades Sr who arrives with his father, named Henry the Elder, in 1737 aboard the Ship Wm to PA~from Rhodes, Germany Source: Strassberger Anyone with more info about this family group~or who would like to talk story about this new breakthrough I would surely love to hear from you!!!
