Mr. Jones was definitely not a scholar. I don't think he had but a few years of formal education. I guess writing the Hamrick book was his hobby. The book lists my gg-grandfather's mother as being a second wife who never existed or maybe I just haven't proven it yet. By the way, my kids are teenagers and it is hard to teach them anything. When I start mentioning ancestors or relating history tidbits, their eyes roll back into their heads. They do know that their great-great-grandmother was a Hamrick. It is a popular name around here.
