I don't really know why I got involved in a discussion about the Calverts. As Ginnie might say, I might as well be talking about Quantum Physics for all that I really know about the Calvert line. Every once in awhile, I like to trot my ignorance out to the track and watch it go by at a dazzling pace. The Calvert line is the line of Jill Ching, the best and least obtrusive moderator of any list anywhere. Does it count for anything if I once lived in Baltimore, where the Lords Baltimore held sway? I'll say something else about Jill. She lets people like me talk whether we know anything about the subject or not. It's not the same in Pendleton County, WV, which almost everyone came through before the big gatherings in Pocahontas, Randolph and Webster. Patsy, you can stop reading now. It's bedtime. dhamrick@neo.rr.com Dan Hamrick 402 23rd Street NW Canton OH 44709 Phone and fax: 330-454-2376 ---------- >From: Patsy H Weikart <qmgen@juno.com> >To: dhamrick@neo.rr.com >Subject: Re: Hamricks and Calverts >Date: Sat, Jan 22, 2000, 6:50 PM > >Dan, >What is the documentaion for the Calvert/ Hamrick line? >I am searching the Calvert Families in the "Register of Maryland's >Heraldic Families- >Tercentenary of the Founding of Maryland 1634 -March 25th. to March 25th. >- 1935" >by Alice Norris Parran published 1938. > >The names are not jiving with your list and so far no mention of a name >Mariah or Ninrod Hamrick - I am taking line by line so I will not miss >any imporant word. >If I find something will let you be the first to know. >The first chapter starts like the following: >THE CALVERT FAMILY >The Calvert family is said to have descended from a noble family in >Flanders.
