In answer to JR 's note at the end of his reply regarding Joel may have been best man at Benjamin's weeding (wedding). The marriage record was never found as a document of proof - only Joesph stating "he thinks they were married in the fall of 1779." In the statement by JR above he is assuming a wedding took place with Joel as best man - Maybe we should not assume what took place for stories start that way.
