Common Pleas Court July Term, 1857 John J Hamrick, Franklin Mathew(s), Oliver Mathew(s) defendants. 12 Dec 1850 Eliza Werts as an apprentice to William Hamick, deceased, she lived with William until his death. William having died a month ago, Nov 1850. In 1842 she made a bargain with William to live with him at the price of $1.00 per week clear of board and room. 26 Aug, 1842, she settled with William the sum of $52.00 due her from William and again she bargained with William to live with him or $1.00 per week up to 14 Oct 1847. She was to receive $2.00 per week so long as she worked and took care of him. She did so until 16 Mar 1850. When a reciting of the foregoing agreement was made and signed by William appraising the sum of $50.00 was due to Eliza. The land was seized and possessed in Wayne Township, Musk. Co containing 44 acs sold to Eliza. Willliam died having no widow but left one son and grandchildren who are his heirs at law.
