Good luck with your search for Meshach, I wish I could help you. Where is the earliest record you find him? Please let the list know what you find about him, ok? thanks, Jill ---------- : From: DSand39689 <[email protected]> : To: [email protected] : Subject: [HAMRICK-L] Re: HAMRICK-D Digest V98 #62 : Date: Friday, May 15, 1998 4:24 AM : : I'm in hopes that someone can help me identify my Hambrick line. I've had : very little success but it may fit nicely in with the established line that : has been so widely discussed lately. Here it is in a nutshell: : : Meshach Hambrick was born circa 1794 in Georgia and married Rebecca Kelly in : Jasper County, Georgia on May 20, 1813. He had served in the War of 1812 in : the Georgia Volunteers (Militia) in Capt. John Wilson's Company which was : formed in Jasper County. : : Rebecca Kelly was born circa 1796 in Georgia, probably the daughter of Tyre : Kelly who later moved to Lowndes County, Alabama. : : By at least 1837 Meshach Hambrick and his family were in Lowndes County : Alabama. He lived in an area that later became Crenshaw County which was : formed from Lowndes. Both Meshach and Rebecca were still living as late as : 1871 although I do not know precisely when either died. They had several : children. Some of these children moved to Arkansas and some remained in : Alabama. : : I feel that Meshach had a brother named John Hambrick whose widow Louisa : Matilda was living in Lowndes County in the 1830's. I also feel that Meshach : had a brother and/or father named Harrison Hambrick who was in Jasper County : Georgia in the 1820's. : : Does this fit in with anyone's research? I certainly hope so! Will be glad : to exchange information. Many thanks. : : David Sanders :
