For those of you who have been following along, I have been trying very hard to figure out just who my great-grandfather's parents were....I just got another big clue today. His death certificate arrived, signed by my grandfather. My great-grandfather, James Battles Hamrick's father was, in fact, according to my grandfather, a John Warren Hamrick. Unfortunately, his mother was listed as "unknown"....she has always been the true mystery... Now, I just have to figure out who the heck John Warren is, and why James Battles ended up living with Hiram G. Hambrick in Clarke Co. in 1860. I'm so happy though just to have something new to go on. I also got my great-grandmother's death cert., and now, finally know where the "Fords" fit into my family tree. It's been a good day.
